Job Description

The Infra Engineer role at Standard Chartered focuses on modern software engineering and distributed application development. Candidates will work on core Java and Spring Boot based services, design and implement microservice architectures, develop RESTful APIs, and integrate messaging solutions such as Kafka and Solace. The position also involves cloud platform expertise, containerized deployments using Kubernetes or EKS, and adherence to secure development practices. Agile methodologies, Test‑Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD), API governance, and technology risk management are integral to the role, along with continuous integration and delivery using Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Core Java and Spring Boot.
- Design, build, and deploy microservice‑based solutions and REST APIs.
- Implement messaging and integration using Kafka and Solace.
- Work with cloud platforms and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes/EKS for deployment.
- Apply secure development practices and ensure compliance with API governance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, follow TDD/BDD practices, and contribute to continuous integration pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the application stack.

Eligibility Criteria

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc).
- Strong English communication skills.
- Open to both freshers and experienced candidates.
- Relevant professional experience in software engineering is a plus.
