Poshmark is looking for a passionate and motivated Data Engineering Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to building scalable, real-time, and batch data pipelines.

As an intern, you will work closely with senior data engineers and cross-functional teams, supporting the development of reliable data systems that are used across Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering teams.

This role will give you exposure to modern data engineering tools, cloud platforms, and big data technologies, along with real-world datasets at terabyte-to-petabyte scale.

• As a Software Engineer Intern – Data Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting in the design and development of data pipelines for both real-time and batch processing
• Supporting the integration of external data sources, such as APIs, S3 transfers, and Kafka streams
• Contributing to the development of ETL workflows using tools like Spark, Airflow, Databricks, and AWS services
• Helping maintain Hive and Redshift tables, data workflows, and internal analytics dashboards
• Writing clean, modular, and maintainable code using Python, Scala, or Ruby
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business and data requirements
• Gaining hands-on experience working with large-scale datasets ranging from terabytes to petabytes
• Assisting in monitoring, debugging, and troubleshooting data pipeline issues
• Following best practices in data engineering, version control, and documentation

• Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in:
• Computer Science
• Engineering
• Data Science
• Or any related technical discipline
• Graduation Year: 2026 only
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including:
• Data Structures
• Algorithms
• Programming concepts

• Strong programming fundamentals in Python or Scala (Ruby is a plus)
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity (academic or project-level) with Big Data concepts, such as:
• Apache Spark
• Hadoop
• Kafka
• Cloud platforms (AWS or similar)
• Interest in building scalable and reliable data systems
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn new technologies
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
• Strong curiosity and eagerness to explore data engineering challenges
