Job Description
The Engineer – SSD Software role at Micron is a software-focused engineering position within the Solid State Drive (SSD) product line. Engineers in this role contribute to the design, development, testing, and optimization of software that powers Micron’s high-performance SSD solutions.
Depending on experience and performance, the role may also be offered under titles such as Staff Engineer – SSD Software or Senior Engineer – SSD Software. Engineers will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient storage solutions used worldwide.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for SSD products
- Work on high-performance and scalable software systems
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and validation teams
- Develop and integrate frontend and backend software components
- Implement and consume REST APIs
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging
- Ensure software quality, performance, and reliability
- Use version control systems and CI/CD pipelines for development
- Support feature enhancements and bug fixes across SSD platforms
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Computer Science Engineering
- Information Technology
- Or related technical disciplines
- Experience
- Freshers are eligible
- Candidates with up to 5 years of experience can apply
Skills Required
- echnical Skills (Must Have)
- Strong programming knowledge in:
- JavaScript (ES6+)
- React.js or modern frontend frameworks
- Backend development experience using:
- Node.js
- Python
- Java
- Experience in REST API development
- Familiarity with:
- Git and version control systems
- CI/CD pipelines
- Good understanding of software development best practices
- Good-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks
- Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) tools
- Knowledge of:
- Model training and fine-tuning
- Deployment in cloud or on-prem environments
- Understanding of scalable system design
