As an Associate Engineer at Caterpillar, you will support manufacturing plant operations by performing regular maintenance, infrastructure support, and engineering assistance activities. This role is ideal for freshers who want hands-on exposure to engineering processes, product development, testing, and supplier coordination.
You will work closely with experienced engineers, supply specialists, and testing teams to ensure smooth operations, quality standards, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.
- Perform regular and basic maintenance and infrastructure support activities in a manufacturing plant
- Research new materials and competitive products to support engineering improvements
- Organize, coordinate, and execute prototype building, testing, and analysis
- Assist supply specialists and buyers in:
- Supplier development
- Supplier performance evaluation
- Oversee the work of drafting and testing specialists
- Develop and document functional requirements
- Translate functional requirements into detailed design documents
- Participate in buy vs build analysis for product components
- Support proposal preparation, cost estimation, and technical report creation
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams
- Ensure compliance with Caterpillar’s quality and safety standards
- Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Engineering
- Computer Science
- Materials Science
- Or related accredited disciplines
- Experience
