Job Description

The Bill of Material (BOM) Analyst is responsible for creating, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy of Bills of Materials across product development and production phases.

This role is critical in ensuring product data integrity from concept to end-of-life stages. The Analyst will collaborate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure BOM accuracy and compliance.

The BOM Analyst contributes directly to:

Streamlined manufacturing processes

Cost optimization initiatives

Efficient inventory control

Accurate product configuration management

Roles & Responsibilities
  • As a Ford Analyst (BOM Management), your key responsibilities will include:
  • 1. BOM Management
  • Create, maintain, and analyze Bills of Materials within PLM and ERP systems.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of components, product structures, and specifications.
  • Maintain hierarchy structures including assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • 2. Structure Development
  • Develop comprehensive BOMs including phantom BOMs and modular BOMs.
  • Ensure correct configuration management based on product complexity.
  • 3. Data Accuracy and Compliance
  • Verify BOM accuracy before production launches.
  • Establish review processes for pre-production builds.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and guidelines.
  • 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, purchasing, production, and supply chain teams.
  • Lead BOM review meetings to resolve open issues.
  • Participate in engineering change and product launch reviews.
  • 5. Change Management
  • Manage engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Update BOMs based on design and process changes.
  • Minimize obsolete materials and optimize resource usage.
  • 6. Inventory and Material Optimization
  • Improve inventory accuracy through data validation.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives via BOM data analysis.
  • 7. System and Process Improvement
  • Suggest improvements in PLM/ERP systems for better data management.
  • Enhance reporting and user experience within systems.
  • 8. New Product Introduction Support
  • Develop initial BOMs for new product launches.
  • Perform BOM scrubbing and validation processes.
  • 9. Training and Guidance
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on BOM processes.
  • Develop expertise in systems and best practices.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidates applying for Ford Off Campus Drive 2026 must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, etc.), Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
  • Freshers and candidates with up to 5 years of relevant experience can apply.
