Larsen & Toubro is hiring Technician – P&M for its Chennai location. The role involves operation, inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance of plant and machinery used at project sites.

As a Technician, you will support equipment maintenance, troubleshoot breakdown issues, and ensure smooth functioning of construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, batching plants, compressors, generators, and loaders.

The position requires adherence to safety standards, equipment maintenance guidelines, and proper documentation practices.

This role is ideal for ITI graduates who are interested in mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, and plant operations.

• As a Technician – P&M at Larsen & Toubro, you will be responsible for carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance of plant and machinery. Your role will involve assisting in breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. You will ensure the proper functioning of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, batching plants, compressors, generators, and loaders used at construction sites.
• You will strictly follow safety procedures and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guidelines while operating and maintaining equipment. Ensuring compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards and site safety norms will be an essential part of your duties. You will be required to report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or near-miss incidents immediately to supervisors.
• In addition, you will maintain daily maintenance logs, service records, and inspection checklists. Coordinating with supervisors regarding spare parts requirements and maintenance schedules will be part of your routine responsibilities. You will also coordinate with operators, site teams, and vendors to ensure smooth equipment operation and maintain proper housekeeping in workshops and equipment areas.

• Candidates applying for the Technician – P&M role must possess a Trade Certificate (ITI) from a recognized institution. Freshers as well as candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience are eligible to apply. Applicants should have a strong interest in plant maintenance, equipment repair, and mechanical systems.
• Candidates from any batch are eligible. Willingness to work in Chennai and adapt to site-based working conditions is essential for this role.

• Candidates should have basic knowledge of plant and machinery maintenance, repair techniques, and troubleshooting practices. Understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical components will be beneficial.
