Job Description
Infosys is recruiting fresh graduates for the role of Mainframe Developer in Bangalore as part of its Off Campus 2026 hiring initiative.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements and define system features and functionality.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable mainframe code, prioritizing expectations and feature requirements.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and recommend system solutions by evaluating custom development options.
- Participate in team meetings and troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
- Understand architecture requirements and ensure effective design, development, validation, and support activities.

Skills Required
- Core Technical: Basic knowledge of Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM (or strong object-oriented programming fundamentals with a willingness to learn legacy systems).
- Programming Logic: Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and logical problem-solving.
- Database Concepts: Basic understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and SQL queries.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
Selection Process
Online Assessment: Consists of objective and subjective sections covering quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, and basic coding/pseudocode questions.
Technical Interview: A face-to-face or virtual round focusing on programming fundamentals, problem-solving approach, project details, and willingness to work on Mainframe technologies.
HR Interview: Final discussion covering background verification, document check, service agreement, and general HR alignment.
