• Analyze user requirements and define system features and functionality.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable mainframe code, prioritizing expectations and feature requirements.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and recommend system solutions by evaluating custom development options.
• Participate in team meetings and troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Understand architecture requirements and ensure effective design, development, validation, and support activities.

• Core Technical: Basic knowledge of Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM (or strong object-oriented programming fundamentals with a willingness to learn legacy systems).

• Database Concepts: Basic understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and SQL queries.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
