Job Description
As a GenC Trainee / Programmer, you will be trained and deployed on modern technologies that support Cognizant’s global clients. This role provides a strong foundation in software development, digital engineering, and enterprise IT services.
Candidates should demonstrate:
A strong zeal to learn and excel in technology-driven roles
The ability to think beyond boundaries and solve real-world business problems
A willingness to undergo continuous upskilling and certification programs
Selected candidates will undergo structured training programs focusing on:
Programming fundamentals
Application development
Testing and debugging
Cloud and digital technologies
Client-specific tools and platforms
Roles & Responsibilities
- Participate in classroom and project-based technical training programs
- Work with project teams to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Support application deployment, enhancement, and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with team members, seniors, and clients in a professional environment
- Adhere to quality standards, security policies, and project timelines
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for Cognizant GenC Off Campus Hiring 2026, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Candidates from 2024 and 2025 batches only
- Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech
- Streams such as Leather Technology, Food Technology, Fashion Technology, and similar non-relevant branches are not eligible
- Good academic background (as per Cognizant’s internal criteria)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills reminding a drive to deliver smart solutions
- Willingness to work from any Cognizant location across India
Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python, or similar)
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms (basic level)
- Logical thinking and aptitude skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to change
