Job Description

Ciena is looking for enthusiastic Software Engineers to join its networking software development team. In this role, you will contribute to designing, developing, and testing embedded software for next-generation networking products. You will work with C, Linux, and networking technologies while collaborating with experienced engineers to build reliable and high-performance solutions. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are passionate about software development, networking, and solving complex technical challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for networking products.
Participate in software design, coding, testing, and debugging activities.
Work with cross-functional teams to develop new features and improve existing applications.
Review technical requirements and deliver reliable software solutions.
Create technical documentation and maintain coding standards.
Support product testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Contribute to the successful delivery of networking software projects.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Good understanding of C programming and Linux operating system.
Basic knowledge of computer networking concepts is preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Fresh graduates with a passion for software development are encouraged to apply.

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of C programming.
Familiarity with Linux operating system.
Basic understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
Knowledge of Python is an added advantage.
Familiarity with Git or version control tools.
Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Selection Process

The Ciena recruitment process is designed to evaluate both technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to participate in an online assessment followed by one or more interview rounds. During the interviews, candidates are assessed on programming fundamentals, networking concepts, communication skills, and their ability to solve technical problems. Applicants who successfully complete all stages of the recruitment process will receive an offer and onboarding details from the company.
